Welcome To Computer Science!

Growing up, I was always tearing something apart and (doing my best at) putting them back together. Ever since getting my first computer (the Tandy 1400 FD shown to the left) while in college, I turned my attention to computers and have enjoyed tinkering with them. A lot has changed since those days, computers have become incredibly more capable and complex but the basic challenge still exists: keeping them running and doing what they are intended to do! I try to share my experience and enjoyment with my students to encourage them to use these tools that God gave us the intelligence to design and develop.

By using the tools wisely, we can fulfill our responsibility to be good stewards of what God has given us and a positive testimony of the hope that is in us.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
— 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Our Goals for the class

  1. Train students to use the computer and other technology items as useful tools for serving the Lord.
  2. Teach students to be careful and wise in what they do and how they do it.
  3. Equip students with skills they can use throughout life, no matter what vocation they choose.
  4. Ensure that students understand the great responsibility involved with technology and the dangers of abusing it.
