Karen Armstrong, Middle school

Fun Fact:  Three generations of my family work or attend Liberty Christian Schools.

I arrived at Liberty Christian Schools in the fall of 2009.  I had retired after teaching in public schools for thirty years.  At first, retirement sounded great; however, after a few months off, I realized that I missed the magic of the classroom so much that I prayed for another direction.  God opened up the door for me to teach sixth grade at Liberty.

This year, I am teaching sixth through eighth grade English and science, and I'm loving it.  Middle school students are ever changing and everyday is a surprise.  They challenge and encourage me daily, and I find that I learn so much from them. God provides daily for all of our needs, and I am grateful for the opportunity to affect these middle school minds.

...but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
— Isaiah 40:31
