Course Description:
Freshman computer is a one semester class which begins with an abbreviated introduction to Touch Typing techniques to insure that all students in the class have a working knowledge of the keyboard and how to touch type. Throughout the semester, opportunity to increase typing skills is given through practice and timed writings. The major portion of the semester is taken up with introduction to the three main computer applications, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Databases by introducing them to the basics of an integrated application software.
Goals:
By the end of the course, the student will:
1. Be able to touch type (at least 25 wpm).
2. Have a working knowledge of computer applications
