Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to give students an overview of the Old Testament. This is accomplished through an intensive study of the lives of many of the characters of the Old Testament. In addition, students develop a working knowledge of the Bible as they place people and events on a time-line of Old Testament history. Finally, by learning the chronology of the Old Testament, they can quickly determine where key events, key people, and key facts are located. A strong emphasis is placed upon application of the principles learned in the lives of each individual student.
Goals:
1. To help develop the character of Christ in each student.
2. To give each student a foundation in biblical truth.
3. To give each student a hope for the future based on the truth of Scripture.
4. To help each student understand and maintain a consistent Quiet Time for Bible class, as well as for the rest of their lives.
5. To help each student develop an appreciation for God’s will.
6. To teach each student to become familiar with where to find events and people of Scripture.
7. To teach each student the importance of Scripture memorization.
8. To introduce each student to the Savior of mankind, Jesus Christ.
