Course Description:
The purpose of the World History class is to trace the development of various civilizations from its beginnings. The establishment of civilization, the medieval time period, the Renaissance, and the enlightened world are viewed through the realization that these major events have played a pivotal role in the development of societies. This approach helps to comprehend how history’s men and events have been used to develop the world in which we live. This approach helps the student to understand that history is, in fact, the unveiling of purposeful events rather than just simply an accounting of facts and dates.
Goals:
1. Define history and identify resources of historical information.
2. Explain the importance of the study of history.
3. Explain the value of study of world history.
