Computer Graphics
Teacher: Andrew Paradis
Computer Graphics teaches our students to use computer software to create, edit and enhance photos and other bitmap images. We use the freeware program GIMP to introduce the students to the power of programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel PhotoPaint and others. We use GIMP since it allows our students to download a copy for their home use and pass it on to anyone else interested.

This class will emphasize the importance of diligence and individual effort, rather than artistic skill, as it is a required class for graduation from Liberty. During each lesson, the students follow step-by-step procedures I have documented to complete the given task. At the end, they can compare their images to the sample I have created and are given opportunity to compare them to each other.
Goals:
1. Develop skills that can be used in other areas of the students education such as in writing reports and documenting projects.
2. Provide the students with a solid understanding of the open source software and the value that can be found in this resource.
3. Develop the critical thinking and problem solving skills introduced in their other classes, and apply them to new areas of life.
4. Teach them to carefully follow instructions to achieve a desired outcome.
