AFTER‑SCHOOL DRESS CODE

1.        All students not participating in team sports or school athletic activities after school must be dressed in normal school clothes by 3:15 p.m.

2.        Any students not in normal school dress after 3:15 p.m. will be subject to disciplinary action. “I forgot, or I’m getting there, or my folks said it’s okay” are not valid excuses for being improperly dressed.

SPORT EVENTS

Girls may wear slacks, jeans or capri’s to sporting events.  All tops, blouses and shirts must still meet the dress code requirements on the previous page. Modest shorts (NO SHORT SHORTS) may be worn to fall volleyball and soccer games and spring baseball/softball games.

BANQUET DRESS

Most of the banquet activities at Liberty Christian Schools are either semi‑formal or informal.  Semi‑formal banquets allow students to choose between formal attire, such as formals and tuxedos, or more casual forms of dress such as long dresses or school length dresses for the girls and dress slacks, shirts, ties, and jackets or sweaters for the boys.  It is expected that all choices of clothing will reflect the standards of modesty as required of the students.  ALL BANQUET DRESSES MUST BE CHECKED BY THE SCHOOL OFFICE BY THE SPECIFIED DEADLINE.  The following guidelines are given to assist girls in the choice of their dresses:

1.         The necklines of dresses and gowns, both in the front and in the back, must meet the Biblical standards of modesty as accepted by Liberty Christian Schools.

2.         Strapless dresses are not acceptable.

3.         Straps on dresses or gowns must be 2″ in width and be adequate to provide a modest appearance.  Spaghetti straps are not acceptable.

4.         Off‑the‑shoulder dresses are not acceptable.  Recognizing that some dresses are made to be worn either over the shoulder or off the shoulder, we must ask that such dresses be worn over the shoulder at all times including during the picture-taking sessions.

5.         Jackets must be worn with dresses that require additional covering over the shoulders and must be worn at all times.

6.         Dress length including slits are to be the same as that required for school dress.   It must touch the floor when the girl is kneeling with her upper body held straight.

SERIOUS OFFENCES OF IMMODESTY MAY RESULT IN A SUSPENSION BEING ISSUED AND/OR THE STUDENT BEING ASKED TO LEAVE THE ACTIVITY.
